We are such lucky children! To be able to go on a walking trip to a local farm through a Deer Park, past a Castle that overlooks another country (Wales) as steam trains go by. To expeience the birth of lambs, and the hatching of chicks. To watch a sheep dog at work, collect hens eggs, see how sheeps milk is collected and to taste the delicious ice cream it makes.
Who says school is boring?

Wow! Have just come across the Dunster First School Website - I attended there in the 1960s and it was great to read the history by Peter Tudball. I was in the same class as his son, Stuart. I now live in Logan (near Brisbane) Queensland, Australia and have been here since I was 12 (over 38 years ago). I still think of my time at Dunster with great fondness. Keep up the good work!

Hello Mr Hoyland,

I am emailing you from Malta. I visited your school in November of 1999. I was attached to Dunster First School as part of my Diploma in Administrarion and Management. How time pass! It was an enriching experience and for which i always feel nostalgic. I noticed that Ms Dolan does not work at your school anymore. I have good memories of her too. I am a deputy in a primary school at the North of the Island. This is my 7th year now a deputy. I compliment you for this website. It gave me the chance to read about you and your school

I was at Dunster school from 1968 to 1973. It was without doubt the best school I ever went to. My favourite teacher was Mr. Watts who taught us how to do long division and how to make corn dollies. My cousin and I were the last of a long line of Case family members to attend the school. This fact was remarked upon by Mr. Powells in assembly on the last day I was there.

I was a pupil at this wonderfull school from 1987 till 1992. I have very fond memories of my time there, from the sneaky tunnel which lead to the playground to Mr singletons spooky boiler room. Many thanks must go out to all the staff who made every event fun and exciting from the annual sports day to the very special christmas festivities. ( the christmas plays were always such a highlight especially if it involved singing and dancing from the head teachers!) yes very fond memories as I am sure all pupils of this endearing school have.

Very interesting website, well done all contributors at Dunster School. The information is very open even the news letters - not always the case in similar organisations. Time now to make a link with Dunster - British Columbia where there is a small village school. The children could find the website for the village on a general enquiry for 'Dunster'. they will see that there are over 2000 references but the Canadian village is near the start. There's a project for someone! Best of luck.
